QTEP-OPTOMECH1 - Nano-structuring diamond membranes for quantum sensing applications

Job description: 

Main Tasks and responsibilities: The ideal profile is a graduate in physics or electrical engineering with expertise in optics, skills in nanofabrication are also desirables. This team member will be in charge of the tasks associated to device fabrication, and optomechanical characterization of the diamond membranes. The characterization of the sensors will be carried out by a laser normally illuminating the sensor array and performing a raster scan across the array to transduce each membrane.

Requirements:

  • Education: A BSc/technical engineering degree (mandatory), or Master degree (desirable) in material science, physics, nanotechnology, or equivalent.
  • Minimum knowledge and professional experience: Experience in an R&D environment and acquaintance with clean-room nanofabrication techniques and optical characterization are desirable.

Job Conditions:

  • 2 years duration starting on 1 July 2021 (extendable according to funding and performance)
  • 37.5 working hours/week
  • Salary: 24 200 €
