QTEP-OPTOMECH2 - Quantum Sensors for the detection of biomolecules

Job description:

Main Tasks and responsibilities: The maintenance and operation of a novel interferometric setup, a closed-cycle cryostat, and design, simulation, fabrication and characterization of nano-structured diamond membranes. The ideal profile is a graduate/PhD in physics or electrical engineering with expertise in optics and nanofabrication. Sensors based on foxonic crystals (PX) that combine the optical properties of photonic crystals with the control of vibrations of a photonic metamaterial will be studied. This type of membranes allows the optical characterization of phonons, measurement of thermo-optical and optomechanical effects, with excellent insulation properties against external disturbances.

Requirements:

  • Education: A BSc/technical engineering degree (mandatory), or Master degree (desirable) in material science, physics, nanotechnology, or equivalent.
  • Minimum knowledge and professional experience: Ideally, the successful applicant has four years-work-experience in an R&D environment and acquaintance with clean-room nanofabrication techniques and optical characterization.

Job Conditions:

  • Duration: 1 year (extendable according to funding and performance)
  • 37.5 working hours/week
  • Salary: 29 200 €

Application process:Send your updated CV and motivation letter to the adress below before the deadline. Please indicate the job reference and your name as the subject of the email.

Deadline for application: until May 23, 2021
